When Spirit Descends

When Spirit descends
The hand starts to move
Colours spray themselves on the canvas
Shape forms
Textures layer themselves upon each other
And a painting comes to life

Proportion and geometry meet each other in perfect angles
And curves bend to the laws of nature
A central force pushes its boundary
And encapsulates itself into the Bindu
A yantra is formed

Words fall upon paper
Metaphors expand into awareness
They rhyme sometimes
But always have a rhythm
A poem is written

The melody follows the beat of the drum
The piano plays the tune
The ensemble picks up where the song finishes
The music lives on to sing

When spirit descends
Millions of tiny little sparks light up the universe
With beauty and expression
Life emerges

A Sign

Give me a sign
Show me something
While I despair
Not knowing how to make sense of things
How to move forward
Where I'm heading
If anywhere at all
Where I'm meant to be
If somewhere, after all

Let me know that you're watching
Give me just a clue
Make a sound that I can hear
Even though I may not always listen
A way to break away from this roundabout
Into a possible direction
Head closer to you
Flow into your bounty
Through the never ending sands
That I walk in now
No map, no route -

Make the sun rise
Shine into my eyes this morning
So I can find East
Point out West from where it sets
Arms stretched I make head into North
I see the star
Everyday
Walking before me
The moon by my side
I still don't notice that these are the signs

Rays of hope come into my life
Every morning
I only see the alarm clock tick by
Snooze for just ten more minutes...
As I lay at night I draw my blinds
Oblivious to the ever present bright North light
I just don't have a clue
Because I wasn't able to find -
You -
In everything from morn to night

There Are No Coincidences in Life

This post is going to be extremely short and sweet.

This weekend my lesson was very simple. There is no coincidence. Everything happens for a reason.

And there is always a lesson in the reason.

Ask why? If you thought of a friend, and that friend contacted you, ask why? What did this person say to you? What was the message?

Look out for answers in patterns. If you continuously see a pattern - numbers or words, or names or places show up unprecedently, maybe there is a reason for you to figure out what they mean and what they're pointing you toward.

We can continue to live our lives without acknowledging the existence of subtle messages sent to us by the universe ( for lack of a better word) or we can choose to try and look into these signs for answers, for clarity, and direction.

I read somewhere that if you had a question and you put it out into the universe - to God, to a religious figure, a saint, an angel, an archangel - the answer or the sign can come to you in a magazine, a book, a movie dialogue. The key is to keep our eyes and ears open. And to always always ask - what is the lesson in this for me? What is this saying to me?

And you shall be told.

Rather strange that this comes up now. My first story about signs was the story of a little girl who wanted God to make it snow on Christmas. As the year ends, it's the time for rebirth and new beginnings. Look out for what is coming your way...
